IPOH — The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has repaired a damaged stretch of road along Jalan Ong Chin Seong in Taman Hoover after complaints about its condition and safety risks went viral on social media.

In a statement, MBI announced that the repair works were carried out on January 27 in collaboration with Puncak Emas Infra Sdn Bhd (PEISB), involving surface repairs using the hot-mix patching method.

According to the council, the works were aimed at improving safety for road users, particularly local residents, motorists, and motorcyclists, while reducing the risk of accidents, especially during rainy conditions.

“The implementation of these repairs is part of immediate action taken following public feedback and concern over infrastructure conditions in the area,” the statement said.

MBI added that it remains committed to ensuring urban infrastructure maintenance is carried out in stages and on a continuous basis for the well-being and safety of Ipoh residents.

The public has been advised to continue channeling complaints through MBI’s official platforms to enable faster and more effective follow-up action.

The council also expressed its appreciation and gratitude for the public’s concern and cooperation in reporting issues involving public amenities in the city.
