IPOH — The Jelapang Neighbourhood Watch (KRT Jelapang) organised a free food and drinks distribution programme for the public in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration.

The programme was also held to mark the 50th anniversary of KRT Jelapang’s establishment.
Its president, S. Thinakaran, said a booth was set up along Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, in front of LFS Seri Kinta.
A total of 700 packs of food and beverages were distributed to visitors.

The distribution took place on Sunday, starting at 11am and continuing until all items were given out.
“This programme received an encouraging response from the local community as well as devotees who came to celebrate Thaipusam.
“Jelapang assemblyman Cheah Pou Hian was also present to observe the charitable efforts carried out by KRT volunteers.
“His presence clearly gave moral support to the volunteers on duty,” he said.
The initiative reflects the spirit of unity and care shown by KRT Jelapang in its community activities.
