IPOH: Starting with just 76 beds and a small team in 1996, Pantai Hospital Ipoh has grown into one of Perak’s leading private healthcare providers, marking its 30th anniversary today.
Pantai Hospital Ipoh (PHI), which began operations on April 12, 1996, continues to serve the people of Ipoh and Perak with modern medical services and internationally recognised standards, in line with current healthcare needs.
The anniversary celebration was officiated by Perak State Executive Councillor for Health, Dato’ Sivanesan A/L Achalingam, representing the Menteri Besar of Perak. Also in attendance was Ipoh City Council member YDH Toh Amar Pahlawan Cllr. Datuk Ahmad Hariri Kamaruddin, along with healthcare professionals, strategic partners and hospital staff.
Pantai Hospital Ipoh Chief Executive Officer Yow Huai Mim said the hospital has grown alongside the development of Ipoh and Perak, providing care to generations of families over the past three decades.
“Over the past 30 years, patients have always been at the heart of everything we do. The trust of the community, together with the strong support of our partners and stakeholders, has enabled Pantai Hospital Ipoh to continue its growth,” she said.
She also expressed appreciation to the Perak state government and local authorities for their continued support, highlighting the importance of public-private collaboration in strengthening the state’s healthcare system.
Meanwhile, Dato’ Sivanesan said Pantai Hospital Ipoh has evolved into a comprehensive private healthcare institution equipped with modern medical technology, multidisciplinary expertise and international standards, complementing public healthcare services in Perak.
“Private hospitals such as Pantai Hospital Ipoh play an important role as strategic partners to the state government, particularly in ensuring patient safety, service quality and ethical medical practices,” he said.
The 30th anniversary celebration also featured the launch of the Memory Lane Gallery, showcasing the hospital’s history, achievements and contributions to the local community over the past three decades.
Looking ahead, Pantai Hospital Ipoh reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its services, embracing innovation and contributing towards a healthier future for the people of Perak.
