‘Panggung Kotak Vol. 4’ Brings Alternative Theatre to Pasar Besar Ipoh

IPOH – The alternative theatre showcase, Panggung Kotak Vol. 4: Edisi Teater, is set to entertain audiences over two nights on February 14 and 15 at Studio SYJ, Pasar Besar Ipoh, starting at 8.30 pm.
The compilation of short plays directed by Yusof Bakar and Ard Omar provides a platform for local artists to present small-scale theatre works with a more intimate and experimental approach.
Organised by the Perak Theatre Practitioners Association in collaboration with ST.E.P.S, the production embraces the ‘panggung kotak’ (box stage) concept, bringing audiences closer to the actors and the messages conveyed.
Tickets are priced at RM15 for the standard category and RM20 for solidarity. Reservations and inquiries can be made via 017-255 8059.
In addition to the performances, the organisers will also hold a Short Theatre Scriptwriting Workshop on February 14 from 10 am to 1 pm at Pasar Besar Ipoh (Bilek Buku).
The workshop, organised by ST.E.P.S in partnership with Bilek Buku and led by Hafiz Zainudin, will include a dramatic reading session of selected scripts, which will be presented at 10.15 pm during Panggung Kotak Vol. 4.
The programme is expected to attract art and theatre enthusiasts, especially from the Ipoh area, and represents another effort to strengthen local arts and cultural initiatives in Perak.
