IPOH: More than 350 participants of multiple races joined the 222-feet-long Lou Sang at AEON Mall Station 18 yesterday.
The lively and colourful event was organised by the Lions Club of Perak Silver State and Loyal Academy in collaboration with AEON Mall, and officiated by YB Dr. V. Sivakumar, Member of Parliament for Batu Gajah and Chairman of MyCEB.

Participants used chopsticks to toss the ingredients high while shouting auspicious wishes for success, prosperity, and happiness.
According to Dr. Richard Ng, Chairman of Lions Clubs International District 308B2 Region 5, the Lou Sang tradition symbolises each individual’s contribution in building a united and caring community.
“Lou Sang, or Yee Sang, using more than 300kg of ingredients, is not merely a dish, but a symbol of unity, togetherness, and positive hopes for the community. Every ingredient in the Yee Sang represents the role of each individual in creating a harmonious and caring society,” he said.
Beyond the tossing ceremony, the event offered a vibrant and interactive atmosphere, making it a meaningful and colourful Chinese New Year experience for all.
