IPOH, March 17 — Renowned cosmetics entrepreneur Datuk Seri Vida continues to demonstrate her concern for the less fortunate by sponsoring the Iftar Jalinan Kasih programme for orphans, asnaf, single mothers and persons with disabilities (OKU) here.

The programme, held at MH Hotel Ipoh, involved 19 orphans from Rumah Anak Yatim Cahaya Kasih Kinta who were also feted during the breaking-of-fast event.

Programme organiser Rosli Mansor Ahmad Razali said the contribution from Datuk Seri Vida marked the fifth consecutive year she has sponsored the programme, which is now in its fifth year.

He said that despite her busy business commitments, the well-known entrepreneur has never neglected her social responsibility and continues to support various welfare initiatives.

“She is very generous and deeply concerned about the less fortunate, particularly orphans, asnaf and single mothers.

“Although she was unable to attend the event this time due to business commitments, she continues to provide full support to ensure that programmes like this can be carried out,” he said.

Meanwhile, the programme also received cooperation from Tourism Perak Management Berhad, which contributed goodies for the orphans who attended.

In addition, supermarket chain Econsave also contributed basic necessities annually to single mothers and senior citizens to help ease their burden ahead of Aidilfitri.

The presence of two siblings, Aina Afieyah, 10, and her younger brother Muhammad Mikhail, four, from Kampung Ulu Kuang in Chemor, who suffer from a fragile skin condition, also drew the attention of guests at the event.

Their father, Muhammad Nazreen Syah Musthafa, 37, said the iftar programme was very meaningful and brought great joy to his children.

“My children were very excited to break fast at a hotel. They rarely get the opportunity to go out because their health condition often does not permit it.

“Thank you to all the sponsors, especially Datuk Seri Vida, and everyone involved,” he said.

The programme is hoped to strengthen community ties while fostering the spirit of sharing among corporate organisations and individuals who are able to contribute.
