The Perak Caring Association (PCA) celebrated 15 years of service to the community last Saturday at the MH Hotel Ipoh. From their humble beginnings, PCA was founded in 2011 by the late Mr Raja Pitchai, and since then, they have grown into a multiracial family of 95 members, who are dedicated to empowering communities through education, youth development, women and family empowerment, welfare initiatives and social advocacy.

From their frequent blood donation drives at AEON Mall Kinta City and Station 18 to their Skill Training courses under their Mom’s Cottage brand, which taught participants how to prepare delectable delights for income, their tenet of selfless behavior extends to those they have helped as well. Celebrating with them were the students and parents of PCA’s Learning Achieving Believing (LAB) programme, an initiative supported by Yayasan Hasanah and the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

The programme identified 40 SPM students from underprivileged families, across 7 schools, and then gave them free tuition, motivation and even provided transport to ensure that they had the best opportunity to succeed in their SPM and secure their futures.
“We wanted to show them our appreciation for their efforts”, said prominent PCA member, Pn. Halida Ali.

Celebrating and honouring their achievement was guest of honour, Ipoh Timor Member of Parliament, YB Howard Lee, who acknowledged the significance of PCA’s work.
