IPOH: The issue of indiscriminate rubbish dumping spilling onto the road in Kampung Baru Tambun, which occurs frequently, has caused growing concern.
Apart from affecting the visual appeal of the area, it also raises concerns over residents’ comfort and public health.
The situation has drawn the attention of non-governmental organisation Fokus Aspirasi Sahabat Tambun, which contacted the relevant authorities for further action.

FAST chairman Faridzul Azlan said the group conducted a site visit after receiving public complaints.
He said the scattered waste has since been cleared and the area restored to order, while expressing appreciation for the swift action taken.
“However, this issue is not just about collection. It is about attitude and shared responsibility.
“Facilities have been provided, but discipline in usage still needs improvement.
“Civic awareness should not rely solely on reminders, but must come from within,” he said.

Faridzul Azlan added that as a concerned community NGO, FAST welcomes similar public complaints to be highlighted.
He said such matters will continue to be monitored and raised when necessary so that minor issues do not become the norm.
This is because a good society begins with small but consistent positive attitudes.
