IPOH: Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) recorded RM71.42 million in annual assessment tax collection involving 128,865 payment bills.

The figure represents a four per cent increase compared to 2025, which recorded 123,329 bills with a total collection of RM68.64 million.

Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah expressed appreciation to Ipoh residents for fulfilling their responsibility in paying assessment tax and for continuing to support MBI’s efforts in developing the city.

“The payments are a positive sign that city residents welcome the implementation of the annual assessment tax bill as well as the lucky draw programme organised by Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh.

“Congratulations and well done to the people of Ipoh for continuing to give strong support to MBI in realising the vision of making Ipoh a Prosperous Smart City,” he said.

He said this while officiating the presentation ceremony for the grand prizes of the 2026 MBI Assessment Tax Lucky Draw.

During the event, 28 special draws were held to determine the recipients of the main prizes offered.

On April 27, MBI conducted 228 digital lucky draws to identify the winners.

This year, MBI offered 228 attractive prizes worth a total of RM106,000 to lucky city residents.

The grand prize was a Proton Saga MC3 1.5 Standard.

Other prizes included two motorcycles, a 65-inch television, a 660-litre refrigerator, an Honor Pad, laptops, cash prizes and several other electrical appliances.

The initiative is part of MBI’s efforts to appreciate the commitment of taxpayers while encouraging a consistent assessment tax payment culture.

The assessment tax lucky draw has been implemented for several years and continues to receive encouraging responses from city residents.
