The 27th Grand Asian Chess Challenge (GACC), organised by the Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF) and Tuanku Bahiyah Residential College, Universiti Malaya, will soon be underway. Running from 19 to 25 May, it aims to have over 1000 participants, both local and international. The event will be held at the KPPI Building at Universiti Malaya, at Tuanku Bahiyah Residential College (2ND College), Kolej Kediaman Menara Budi, Jln Professor Diraja Ungku Aziz, 50603 Kuala Lumpur.

International player participants from China, Indonesia, Singapore and others will be joining in the event, as well as local players, including those from Perak. Perak’s players will participate in all 5 game types, which are the 27th GACC Classical Open, the 27th GACC Rapid Open, the 27th GACC Blitz, the 27th GACC Rapid Team and finally, the 27th GACC Rapid Age Group.
The 27th GACC Chess Championship is a non-profit student-run international event, which aims to encourage chess as a hobby among young students from primary schools to universities and colleges, promote the unique culture and heritage in Malaysia to international participants and to provide a platform for undergraduates from Malaysia and other countries to foster closer ties.
