Manhole on Jalan Maxwell resurfaced, Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab repaired

By: Aida Azizi

IPOH, May 24 — Problems involving an uneven manhole cover on Jalan Maxwell and a sunken road on Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab have finally been repaired by the relevant authorities.

An Ipoh resident who had earlier raised the issue with Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic said the uneven manhole had been resurfaced while the damaged road had been levelled and stabilised.

“This morning, I passed through the area and found that both locations had been repaired by the authorities. Thank you for highlighting the people’s complaints until the issue was resolved.

“I hope other problematic locations will also be repaired, and not only after they go viral on social media or news portals, before action is taken.

“There are still many roads, not only in Ipoh but throughout Perak, that need to be monitored by the responsible parties, including local councils, elected representatives, councillors, assemblymen and utility companies, especially involving manhole issues,” he told Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic.

Earlier, Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic reported on an accident involving a motorcyclist on Jalan Maxwell, allegedly caused by a deep manhole that was out of level with the road surface.

A long-standing issue involving the damaged road on Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab had also drawn various reactions from road users.
