LUMUT :The Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) will introduce a new parking management system using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology at Teluk Batik beginning June.
The implementation is part of MPM’s efforts to enhance a more modern, systematic and user-friendly parking management system at one of the district’s main tourist destinations.
Under the ANPR system, vehicle entry and parking payments will be processed automatically using vehicle registration number recognition technology.
Payments will be conducted fully cashless using debit and credit cards.
MPM said the system upgrade aims to improve parking management efficiency while reducing congestion at popular tourist hotspots.
The move is also in line with the development of digital technology and the smart city aspirations currently being strengthened by the local authority.
During the implementation period, the public is advised to comply with all instructions and guidelines provided at the parking areas.
Visitors are also urged to pay attention to signboards and information related to the use of the ANPR system to ensure smooth parking transactions.
Teluk Batik is among the popular tourist destinations in the Manjung district, attracting large numbers of visitors, especially during weekends and school holidays.
MPM hopes the new system will provide users with a parking experience that is easier, faster and safer.
