IPOH: Partial reconstruction works on FT185 Jalan Simpang Pulai–Blue Valley, a stretch of road long identified as having a high accident risk, will begin tomorrow and continue until June 20.

Simpang Pulai assemblyman Wong Chai Yi said the Public Works Department (JKR) had informed her that the closure would involve only one lane and not a full closure in both directions.
However, traffic congestion is expected, particularly during peak hours.
“JKR has informed that partial reconstruction works on FT185 Jalan Simpang Pulai–Blue Valley will commence tomorrow and continue until June 20, 2026,” she said.
Chai Yi noted that the route had long been recognised as posing an accident risk due to the condition of its road infrastructure.
She said the upgrading works were necessary to ensure the long-term safety and durability of the roadway.
“Although the extended construction period may cause some inconvenience to road users, I hope everyone will remain patient and cooperate.
“This temporary inconvenience is for the sake of greater safety and comfort in the future,” she said.
She also advised motorists to plan their journeys in advance and avoid peak-hour travel whenever possible.
Traffic management measures throughout the construction period will be monitored and adjusted from time to time to help minimise congestion.
