BATU GAJAH: The Batu Gajah District Council (MDBG) will carry out weekly operations to capture stray cattle and buffaloes without prior notice, with all seized livestock to be auctioned off.
The decision was made following discussions between Tronoh Assemblyman Steven Tiw Tee Siang and the MDBG Enforcement Department.
According to Steven, the move is necessary as the issue of roaming cattle and buffaloes in the Tronoh state constituency has become increasingly uncontrolled.

He stressed that livestock owners who continue to release their cattle and buffaloes irresponsibly should not blame any party if enforcement action is taken, as the issue has repeatedly caused various problems for residents, particularly road safety risks.
“Following the discussions, to address this issue, MDBG will conduct weekly operations to capture stray cattle and buffaloes without prior notice, and the seized animals will be auctioned.
“The document also outlines a working paper for an initiative where members of the public, together with the Village Development and Security Committees (JPKK), will be empowered to assist in capturing stray cattle and buffaloes.
“We will continue to pay close attention to this issue. We hope to receive cooperation from all parties,” he said.
