IPOH: The Perak Youth and Sports Department (JBS Perak) has issued a warning to contractors and members of the public to be cautious of fraudulent quotations and tender offers made using the department’s name.

According to JBS Perak, it has detected syndicates or irresponsible individuals misusing the names of the department and district youth offices.
The scam is believed to be carried out through various channels, including phone calls, WhatsApp messages, and forged documents, to deceive victims.
More alarmingly, certain individuals have reportedly impersonated and falsified the identities of JBS Perak officers as well as officers from District Youth and Sports Offices.
The tactic is allegedly used to convince victims that the offers being made are legitimate.
JBS Perak stressed that all government procurement matters, including quotations and tenders, are conducted in accordance with established official procedures and are not carried out through personal negotiations by any officer.
In light of this, members of the public and contractors are advised not to trust any offer received without first verifying its authenticity.
They are also encouraged to review all offers carefully and contact the official JBS Perak hotline or the relevant District Youth and Sports Office for confirmation.
This is important to ensure the legitimacy of any offer before proceeding with any transaction or payment.
Members of the public who receive suspicious offers using the name of JBS Perak or its officers are urged to report the matter immediately to the authorities or contact the department for further action.
