IPOH: The Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR) has awarded RM87,000 under the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Publication Grant to five researchers from selected universities to support evidence-based policymaking and the state’s development agenda.
The recipients, from Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), each received RM17,400 after being selected from 334 research proposals submitted during the Perak Research Policy and Conference (PPRC) 2026.


The selected studies cover strategic areas including digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), economic competitiveness, food security, environmental sustainability and governance.
During the same ceremony, IDR also recognised winners of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Research Poster Competition and Photography Competition, which attracted 58 and 280 entries respectively.
All grants and awards were presented by Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, reflecting the state’s commitment to strengthening its research ecosystem and promoting evidence-based development.
