KAMPUNG GAJAH: A 23-year-old woman had to be rescued by firefighters after she fainted while hiking at Bukit Tunggal here today.
According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division Assistant Director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the incident occurred while the victim was hiking with 18 friends.


He said the department received a distress call regarding the incident at 8.59 am, following which seven personnel from the Kampung Gajah Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene.
“Upon arrival, the rescue team found that a 23-year-old Malay woman had fainted while carrying out a hiking activity with 18 companions. However, the victim was reported to be safe.
“The operation commander conducted an assessment of the situation and subsequently instructed personnel to bring the victim down using a scoop stretcher with the assistance of the police. The victim was later handed over to the Ministry of Health (MOH) for further action,” he said.
