Taiping Zoo Records New Wildlife Births

By Zaki MS

TAIPING – Zoo Taiping & Night Safari (ZTNS) continues to strengthen its role as a wildlife conservation, education and recreation centre after recording several new births between January and June 2026.

The new births included four striped skunks, 12 Milky Storks, one Bawean deer, one Axis deer and one sambar deer.

ZTNS said the new births reflected its continuous efforts in wildlife conservation, breeding and management.

Meanwhile, ZTNS has also upgraded its visitor facilities by introducing two new electric trams and two new vintage buggies.

The electric trams are provided free of charge to visitors, with each carriage capable of accommodating up to 24 passengers.

With the addition, the total number of electric trams currently operating at ZTNS has increased to 12 units.

The vintage buggies, meanwhile, offer visitors a more exclusive private tour experience, with a capacity of up to seven passengers per trip.

The service takes visitors along the zoo’s 2.5-kilometre route at a promotional rate of RM200 per round.

The promotional rate is effective from August 20 until December 31, 2026.

The facility upgrades, together with the successful wildlife births, further strengthen ZTNS’s position as one of Perak’s key tourism attractions and wildlife conservation centres.
