IPOH- A delegation from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) visited several tourism project sites around Ipoh to review the progress of their implementation.

The visit was led by MOTAC Secretary-General, Dato’ Shaharuddin Abu Sohot.

The programme began at Gunung Lang, where the delegation inspected the completed restoration of the Rumah Kutai under the 2024 Restoration, Conservation, Renovation and Upgrading Project (PPUN) allocation.

The delegation also reviewed the proposed lighting upgrade project for two bridges at Kinta Riverwalk, which has been approved under the 2026 PPUN allocation.

They later visited the Kinta Riverwalk upgrading project, which includes the construction of a pedestrian bridge spanning the Kinta River.

The bridge will connect Ipoh’s Old Town and New Town and is expected to be completed in August 2026 under the Twelfth Malaysia Plan (12MP).

The working visit was also attended by Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah, together with senior officials from MOTAC, the Ipoh City Council and related agencies.

The programme reflects MOTAC’s continued commitment to strengthening tourism, cultural and heritage development in Perak.

These initiatives are expected to further enhance Ipoh’s appeal as one of Malaysia’s leading tourism destinations while enriching the overall visitor experience.
