IPOH: The Perak State Government today tabled the Fourth-Year Progress Report of Perak Sejahtera 2030, themed “Results Delivered, Confidence Built.”
The report serves as an assessment of the state’s development blueprint since it was launched on 15 June 2022.
Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, said that as the initiative enters its fourth year, Perak Sejahtera 2030 is now on a strong footing to translate the state’s economic growth into tangible benefits for the people.
He said Perak’s economy expanded by 5.7 percent in 2025, surpassing the national growth rate of 5.2 per cent.
He added that Perak also emerged as the country’s sixth-largest contributor to Malaysia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), accounting for 5.3 per cent of the national economy.
He noted that approved investments in the state increased significantly from RM6.61 billion in 2022 to RM15.76 billion in 2025.
According to him, the increase reflects investors’ confidence in the state’s development direction, driven by five strategic growth nodes.
He stressed that economic achievements are meaningful only when they translate into employment opportunities, business growth and improved well-being for the people.
As such, Perak Sejahtera 2030 continues to focus on strengthening initiatives related to the cost of living, food security, education, healthcare, housing, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), entrepreneurship and employment opportunities.
He said confidence in Perak has been further reinforced as the people begin to experience the benefits of the state’s policies, while investors continue to choose Perak as their preferred investment destination.
He added that the Federal Government has also continued to place its trust in Perak by assigning the state the implementation of several strategic development projects.
Saarani said the State Government will undertake a Mid-Term Review to ensure Perak Sejahtera 2030 remains relevant through to 2030.
The review will include the alignment of monitoring indicators, enhancement of key agendas and flagship initiatives, as well as the rationalisation of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Dashboard, in line with the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) and emerging economic trends.
