IPOH: A 40-year-old local man believed to have been involved in a house break-in at Jalan Building Society, Taman Star, here, was found dead following a struggle with the house caretaker.
Perak Police Chief, Dato’ Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin, said police received a report on the incident, which is believed to have occurred at about 5 a.m. after two suspects entered the house through a window that had been forced open.
He said a struggle ensued between the suspects and the house caretaker before one suspect managed to escape, while the other was found unconscious at the scene and was later pronounced dead.
“Post-mortem findings revealed that the cause of death was blocked coronary arteries,” he said in a statement.
He added that the case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR), while investigations under Section 457 of the Penal Code and Section 324 of the Penal Code are still ongoing.
Police are currently tracking down the second suspect, who remains at large, to assist in the investigation.
