MDK Urges Kampar Residents To Embrace Recycling For A Sustainable Environment

By Zaki Salleh

KAMPAR – Residents of Kampar are encouraged to play their part by adopting recycling practices to help create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment.

This initiative is made easier through an e-waste recycling kiosk located at Econsave Kampar.

In a statement, the Kampar District Council (MDK) said that recycling should become a daily habit and help reduce the amount of waste generated.

Items that can be disposed of at the e-waste kiosk include small unused electrical and electronic devices.

These include mobile phones, batteries, cables and wires, power banks, computer mice, keyboards, and other electronic accessories.

“E-waste must be disposed of properly to protect the environment from hazardous pollution.

“It also helps reduce health risks while keeping Kampar cleaner,” the statement said.

MDK also reminded the public to separate waste into categories such as paper, plastic, aluminium cans, and glass to facilitate the recycling process.

The use of reusable shopping bags, personal water bottles, and reusable food containers is also encouraged as part of everyday life.

According to MDK, these practices are in line with the 9R Circular Economy Strategy, which promotes the principles of Refuse, Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Refurbish, Remanufacture, Repurpose, and Recycle.

The implementation of this strategy can help reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills.

The public is urged to make recycling a daily habit for the well-being of the community and to ensure a greener future for the planet.
