IPOH – The deaths of a mother and her two daughters, who were found dead in a house in Bandar Baru Tambun on July 30, are believed to have been caused by carbon monoxide poisoning.
Ipoh District Police Chief, ACP Muhammad Najib Hamzah, said the finding was based on post-mortem examinations conducted at the Forensic Department of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun.
He said forensic experts determined the cause of death for all three victims as “probable carbon monoxide toxicity.”
“Police investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident, while all aspects of the case continue to be examined.
“The case remains classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR) pending the results of scientific analyses and other related reports to complete the investigation,” he said in a statement.
He also advised the public not to speculate or spread unverified information regarding the incident.
At the same time, police urged the public to respect the privacy of the victims’ family and remain sensitive while investigations are still underway.
Yesterday, police confirmed that a mother and her two daughters were found dead inside a room at a house in Bandar Baru Tambun on Thursday night.
The victims, a 46-year-old woman and her two daughters, aged 12 and 11, were all Malaysian citizens.
