1 August was a significant day for SMK Methodist ACS Ipoh, especially for their Old Boys, as it held both the ACS Ipoh Alumni Sports Carnival 2026 and the ACS Ipoh Alumni Dinner 2026.
The Sports Carnival 2026, which was held during the morning, saw a total of 315 registered participants, representing many different ages of life, as close to 500 people attended this year’s event. There were sports aplenty with 28 football teams (11 old boys and 17 school boys), 43 badminton participants (16 old boys and 27 school boys) and 21 Swimmers (10 old boys and 11 school boys).
The Alumni Dinner, which was held at the Regency Tower Hotel, was lively with chatter throughout the evening, as if it were a rambunctious classroom, as old school mates caught up with one another after years, if not decades apart.
Founded in 1895 by Reverend William Edward Horley, the school is 131 years old in 2026, and although it is a government-assisted school, some parts of it are suffering from disrepair.
