IPOH: The Canning Madani Recreational Park, officially opened in July last year, has benefited the local community.
However, a Canning Garden resident claimed that the authorities should monitor and maintain the recreational park more regularly.
The resident said the grass or turf surface at the park was uneven and could pose a safety risk to children who frequently use its facilities.
“I am a Canning Garden resident and was happy to see the Madani playground and walking track being developed.
“It was officially opened on July 25 last year, and I frequently walk there.
“However, I am now disappointed that such a beautiful park is not properly maintained. The turf surface is uneven and could pose a danger to children playing there.
“I hope the Ipoh City Council will send its officers or personnel to inspect the park and take the necessary action before it becomes neglected and is no longer frequented by the public,” the resident said.
The Canning Madani Recreational Park was officially opened by Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming.
Each Madani Recreational Park (TRM) receives an allocation of RM450,000 for development costs.
TRM facilities include playground and exercise equipment, walking paths, park benches and gazebos, aimed at serving the needs of the local community.
