KAMUNTING: Six shop units were destroyed in a fire at Lorong 2, Pekan Kamunting Lama, here early Tuesday morning.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said 15 personnel from the Kamunting and Taiping Fire and Rescue stations were dispatched to the scene.
He said the department received an emergency call at 5.52 am.
“The fire involved six Class C shop units, with no casualties reported.
“Five shop units were about 80 percent destroyed, while the remaining unit suffered around five percent damage,” he said.
Sabarodzi said the operation commander conducted a size-up upon arrival and implemented the RECEO approach before directing personnel to carry out firefighting operations.
The operation was declared completed at 9.50 am.
