IPOH: Women are urged to prioritise breast health and undergo regular screening as Pantai Hospital Ipoh (PHI), in collaboration with Persatuan Pink Champion Perak (PPCP), rolls out its Pink October 2026 Breast Health Awareness Campaign next month.
Held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the campaign will take place on 12 selected days in October at the Ground Floor, Medical Mall, Pantai Hospital Ipoh.
Campaign highlights include a special mammogram screening package priced at RM150 for one person or RM240 for two, aimed at making breast cancer screening more accessible to women in the community.
PHI is also offering a special rate of RM100 for bilateral breast ultrasound, along with special consultation rates with specialists.
PPCP will set up its “Be Breast Aware” awareness booth at PHI on October 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 19, 20, 21, 27, 28 and 29.
The booth will feature educational activities on breast cancer awareness and Breast Self-Examination (BSE), including demonstrations on proper self-examination techniques.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to receive a complimentary breast examination conducted by PHI staff nurses.
The campaign is aimed at encouraging women to understand the importance of early detection, practise regular breast self-examination and seek medical attention promptly if they notice any changes or abnormalities.
It will also highlight support available for women who have undergone mastectomy, including bras, foam inserts and breast prostheses.
PPCP will also share information on its role in supporting breast cancer patients and survivors, while providing an opportunity for members of the public to learn more about breast health and available support.
Through the collaboration, PHI and PPCP hope to empower more women to take a proactive approach to their health, increase awareness of breast cancer and encourage timely screening and medical attention.
The campaign reflects the organisations’ commitment to promoting breast health, supporting breast cancer patients and survivors, and strengthening awareness within the local community.
