The OMPH Line Dancing group had their Christmas Dance & Lunch at the Hei Lai Thon Restaurant recently. The dance was held at the church and later adjourned to the restaurant where dancers and their spouses enjoyed a 6-course meal together. With all sorts of activities organised the lucky draw and the Christmas Carols were a hit. Everyone sang in unison, clapping and swaying while Rev. Fr. Patrick Massang gave a lovely rendition of Silent Night.
“From life to work, there are so many ways to grow as a team and become stronger together” says Linda Oon, organiser, and dance instructor. “We do this every year; these outings are a way for us to step out of our comfort zone and into exciting and sometimes challenging activities.
“Another thing I love about Line Dancing is that I get to meet and interact with new people every time. We all end up as a big Line Dancing family without realising it. The upbeat music and moves will enhance one’s mood and we always leave class in a better mood”.
For beginners, her advice is to have an open mind and follow as much as you can at your own pace. “We will be starting a beginners class next year, for those who have never attempted line dancing, now can come and join in, and don’t worry I will select very easy dances,” says Linda playfully.
