The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for reunion, reflection, and gratitude. It reminds us to cherish family, friendship, and togetherness. For Kiwanis Meru Valley, it is also the perfect moment to extend that spirit of compassion to children who may not have the comfort of a complete family. By combining tradition with charity, the club hopes to create a meaningful evening that celebrates culture and uplifts lives.
In collaboration with Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Berjasa, Kinta, a registered welfare home, Kiwanis Meru Valley will host its Mid-Autumn Charity Dinner on Friday, 26 September 2025 at Super HLT Restaurant in Ipoh. The evening promises festive cheer, delicious food, cultural performances, and a strong show of community spirit in support of underprivileged children.

Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Berjasa provides a safe home for children who have been abandoned, neglected, or come from families facing extreme hardship. They offer shelter, education, emotional support, and a sense of belonging. Daily life is filled with school, homework, chores, and play, supported by dedicated caregivers who help the children grow into confident and responsible individuals.
For the event, the funds raised will go beyond covering daily needs. “Every ringgit we raise is about breaking the cycle of hardship and giving them the tools, health, and confidence to stand tall in life,” said Kingsley Quay, President of Kiwanis Meru Valley. This includes medical care, regular check-ups, better school resources, extracurricular activities, and opportunities to develop skills and talents.

Guests can look forward to traditional lantern displays, cultural performances, a special children’s performance by the beneficiaries, and a charity auction with all proceeds going directly to the home. Stories of the children will also be shared, allowing attendees to see first-hand the impact of their support.
Kingsley added that 2025 will be a year where Kiwanis Meru Valley focuses even more on education, skill-building, and healthcare for underprivileged children in Ipoh. The club will continue to organise events that blend culture, charity, and community spirit, and welcomes anyone who wishes to volunteer, sponsor, or help spread the word.
Tables are priced at RM1,500, with every ringgit going towards enriching the lives of the children. Seats are limited, so early booking is encouraged.
