IPOH: Unique and captivating.
That’s what participants of the Melodi Harapan Project, themed ‘Nature’s Little Heroes’, delivered during the grand finale held at Sekolah Kebangsaan Dato’ Panglima Kinta.

This 12-week project was led by Dr Pravina Manoharan, a recipient of the Perak Creative Fund, in collaboration with Dr Mumtaz Begum and a team from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Centre for the Arts.
The programme was specifically designed to build self-confidence among children through artistic expression, while also strengthening their command of the English language.
What made it even more exciting was the project’s innovative approach, combining music as a medium for both learning and environmental awareness.

This made the educational process more enjoyable and effective for primary school students.
Earlier, the programme was officially launched by Buntong State Assemblyperson, Thulsi Manogaran.
The event was further enlivened by a live musical performance from renowned composer and national jazz icon, Michael Veerapen, adding a professional touch to this high-impact programme.
The project is expected to pave the way for greater collaboration between educational institutions, the arts community, and child development initiatives in the future.
