Homeless Individual Defecates in Public, Collects Trash in Taman Cempaka

By Aida Aziz

IPOH: The presence of a homeless individual behind a laundromat in Taman Cempaka has raised concern among local residents.

This concern is not simply because the individual is homeless — they are still human beings and deserve to be treated with dignity.

However, the current issue lies in the fact that the homeless person, whose gender has not been identified, frequently defecates in various spots around the area.

At the same time, this behavior has made the area dirty and could potentially lead to health problems and unpleasant odors.

A complainant, speaking further to Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic, claimed that the individual also collects rubbish and piles it up in the same area.

“This homeless person has been staying behind a laundromat in Taman Cempaka for over a month now.

“He/she remains there day and night without moving elsewhere.

“What’s more concerning is that they defecate all around the area and collect trash, piling it up where they sit.

“The area looks filthy with garbage and reeks due to the defecation,” the complainant reported on Monday.

The complainant also claimed that the issue has been raised multiple times with the relevant authorities, but no action has been taken so far.

They urged the authorities to look into the issue and consider what kind of assistance could be provided to relocate the homeless individual to a more comfortable and appropriate place.

“We sympathize with the individual’s situation. We don’t know what led him to this state, but if possible, the authorities should monitor this issue.

“From conversations with other residents, it is said that the individual was abandoned by his family,” they added.

As such, the residents are urging the authorities to take immediate action to ensure the health and well-being of both the homeless individual and the local.
