IFC Gym and Studio Brings Fresh Energy to Ipoh Garden

By Anne Das

IFC Gym and Studio is Ipoh Garden’s newest fitness spot and it is already creating buzz for one simple reason. The gym is owned and run by  Kyiodi Joe and Jamie Pang, better known as the Ipoh Fit Couple. They have been coaching in Ipoh since 2015 and now bring their solid experience and loyal following into their very own fitness space.

IFC occupies an orange corner building next to the Petron gas station in Ipoh Garden South. The gym spans two floors, with the top level fully equipped for weight training and the first floor arranged for mixed workouts and classes. The view from upstairs is an unexpected bonus for anyone easing into a session.

IFC offers one of the more active class schedules in the neighbourhood, with two sessions held daily except Sundays. The weekly lineup includes Zumba Fitness, Aerobic, Strength Fitness, Hatha Yoga, Strength Gold for seniors, Tabata and toning sessions. All classes are led by instructors personally selected by Joe and Jamie.

Their senior programme, Strength Gold by trainer Faizal, is one of the most talked about offerings. The walk-in fee is RM20 and group sizes are kept small for comfort and safety. IFC also opens its space for community workshops and welcomes coaches or practitioners who wish to conduct wellness or fitness based sessions.

Joe brings a naturally motivational presence to the gym and many regulars say they leave each session feeling more focused and confident. His training philosophy centres on consistency, good nutrition and understanding your own body instead of chasing fast results.

He is a firm advocate for anti doping and often speaks about the harm of shortcuts, especially among young lifters. His goal is to educate the younger generation so they build their strength safely and stay far away from performance enhancing substances.

Jamie on the other hand,  is known for her patient and attentive coaching style. Clients say she explains movements clearly and adjusts sessions to suit each person’s pace. Her workouts feel safe and achievable and many appreciate the way she supports people of all fitness levels.

She has an instinct for reading her clients’ confidence levels and knowing when to slow things down. Many say they appreciate how supported they feel under her watch.

Together, they create an environment where everyone is welcome. IFC already has seniors, autistic members and visually impaired clients who feel safe and supported here. They tailor each session to the individual, keeping technique, mobility work and strength training accessible to everyone.

Beyond the classes, IFC is fitted with performance-grade equipment on both floors, creating a space that feels serious yet welcoming. They also offer the InBody 580 Test, the only machine of its kind in Perak, which helps members understand their body composition and shape training plans that actually works for them.

The gym also includes a modern, clean locker & shower area, making it easy to settle into a routine and stay consistent.
