IPOH: A recycling factory caught fire at the Tungzen Industrial Park, Kampung Kepayang here today.
The fire involved a storage area containing materials that were being processed into oil.
The incident occurred at around 11 a.m., and 16 personnel from the Simpang Pulai, Gopeng, and Ipoh Fire and Rescue Stations rushed to the scene.
Meanwhile, Gopeng Member of Parliament Tan Kar Hing said that firefighting operations were being actively carried out to ensure the blaze could be fully controlled.
“I am saddened to receive reports of the major fire currently taking place in this area.
“Highest appreciation and thanks to the personnel from the Simpang Pulai, Gopeng, and Ipoh fire stations for their swift action,” he said.
