Young Girl Left at KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital, Next of Kin Sought

IPOH: The Social Welfare Department is tracking down the biological mother or relatives of a young girl who was left without identification documents at the baby hatch of KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital on 19 November 2023.

According to the Child Protector of the Kinta District Social Welfare Office, Nurul Iman Fatihah Ab. Razak, the child was left at 2.45 p.m. together with a small note that read “Kok Sze Kei” and “Chinese”.

Also left with the child were a disposable diaper, a milk bottle, baby formula, a piece of clothing, and baby ointment.

As such, she said the child is now placed under the care of foster parents appointed by the Kinta District Child Court for a period of two years.

“In relation to this, the Kinta District Social Welfare Office needs information on the child’s relatives to make the best decision regarding her placement and welfare.

“Anyone with information or any next of kin may come forward to the Kinta District Social Welfare Office or contact the Protector at 05-5269157 or 05-2410986,” she said.
