BATU GAJAH: The cunning tactic of a herder who tried to avoid action by the authorities failed after he was issued a summons for allowing his cows to roam freely.
The problem of livestock being left unattended and causing danger to the public often occurs in the Medan Pusing area.
According to Tronoh assemblyman Steven Tiw Tee Siang, the raid was carried out on Thursday together with an enforcement team to address the recurring issue.
“I, along with enforcement officers, conducted the raid.
“At first we could not locate the herder because he had arranged for someone to monitor our movements and tried to avoid being subjected to enforcement action.
“However, with the swift help of the local community through a WhatsApp group, we managed to locate the herder. The authorities then took firm action,” he said.
He added that a summons was issued to the man for allowing his cows to roam freely on the road, and he was given a stern warning.
He further stated that the operation demonstrates their commitment to public safety and ensuring that any irresponsible behaviour is dealt with.
