Pangkor State Assembly Back-to-School Aid Eases Burden on Underprivileged Families

By Zaki Salleh

LUMUT: A total of 30 students from underprivileged families received back-to-school donations from the Pangkor State Assembly (DUN) Service Centre.

The contributions were handed over during the Back to School Program at the DUN Pangkor Service Centre office here.

This is the second time the program has been organized as a continuous effort to help ease parents’ burden in providing school supplies for their children.

Pangkor State Assembly member, Norhaslinda Zakaria, said the donations are part of the initiative to assist families from the targeted group.

According to her, the cash aid allows parents to make their own choices at appropriate stores to purchase necessities such as school uniforms, shoes, bags, and other basic items.

“Another distribution for the Back to School Program has successfully taken place at the DUN Pangkor Service Centre office.

“This approach is slightly different from other programs because the DUN Pangkor Service Centre chooses to provide assistance in cash, allowing families the flexibility to make choices according to their actual needs,” she said.

Norhaslinda explained that the DUN Pangkor Service Centre provides donations based on priority and identifies families who genuinely need assistance.

“We may not be able to implement this on a large scale, but we strive to do our best according to our capacity, because every aid, no matter how small, still carries great meaning for those in need.

“May this small effort be a source of goodness and open more doors of sustenance and blessings for all parties involved,” she added.
