IPOH — In an effort to ensure Thaipusam 2026 in Ipoh runs smoothly and that the city remains clean and comfortable, a dedicated group of personnel played a vital role.

These were the officers from the Public Health and Municipal Services Department of the Ipoh City Council (MBI).

Working throughout the Thaipusam celebrations, they carried out comprehensive cleaning operations at several key locations across the city.

Among the areas involved were major roads such as Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, Jalan Sultan Yussuf, and Jalan Tun Sambanthan. Other important roads including Jalan Dato’ Onn Jaafar, Jalan Raja Ashman Shah, and Jalan Raja Musa Aziz were also included in the operation.

Additionally, areas surrounding Bulatan Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Sungai Pari, Jalan Tun Perak, Medan Istana, and Jalan Lahat were swept and cleared of waste as part of the operation.

“The cleaning work is part of MBI’s initiative to ensure the city is comfortable and clean during Thaipusam, which is one of the major celebrations among the Indian community in Ipoh.

“We want visitors and devotees at Sri Subramaniar Swamy Temple to feel comfortable and safe,” MBI said in a statement.

With the cleaning operations in place, Ipoh is expected to remain a clean, comfortable, and tourist-friendly city, reflecting a harmonious and cooperative spirit among its residents.
