IPOH: More than 800 participants took part in the Ipoh Moreh Run 2026 held at Taman Rekreasi Sultan Abdul Aziz @ Padang Polo here, adding vibrancy to the Ramadan atmosphere with a nighttime recreational activity.
The leisure run, which began at about 10 pm, brought together runners from around Ipoh, as well as several running clubs, who took the opportunity to exercise after breaking their fast.

The Bulatan Runners Community Running Club president, Nazrul Zaim Nazian, said the programme aimed to encourage the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle while strengthening ties among participants.
He said organising the run at night during Ramadan offered a different experience for participants as they could enjoy a relaxed recreational activity after completing their daily religious obligations.
Nazrul said the programme, now in its second edition, is expected to continue as an annual event during the fasting month.

The event was officiated by Ipoh City Council (MBI) councillor whip Datuk Mazlan Abd Rahman, who said community-based programmes such as the run help foster a sense of unity among city residents while promoting the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
Among the running clubs that took part were The Polo Runners, Bagirun Club, Runners Tanpa Sempadan, MAF Runners, Sahabat Senaman Santai, Sri Iskandar Runners and Lari Ke Maya.
Apart from the leisure run, participants also took part in several side activities, including community interaction sessions and a lucky draw, before ending the evening with ‘moreh’ (a light supper traditionally enjoyed after night prayers during Ramadan).
The meal usually featured kuih-muih, porridge, light noodles or rice, and hot drinks.
