IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) collected RM30.3 million from parking management within its administrative area last year.
The amount represents an increase of RM4.7 million compared to the previous year.
Of the total, RM21.3 million was generated from parking fees, while RM9 million came from compound fines.
The achievement reflects the effectiveness of the implemented management system, firm enforcement, and the strong commitment of personnel involved in daily operations.
More notably, MBI has surpassed its 2030 revenue target ahead of schedule, achieving RM30.3 million earlier than expected.
Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah said the success proves that major targets can be achieved when the entire workforce operates as a united team.
He added that parking services across Ipoh have been fully managed and supervised by the council for over 30 years.
“Throughout this period, various changes and improvements have been introduced in line with technological advancements, current needs, and the expectations of urban communities.
“MBI will continue to strengthen existing systems, expand the use of smart technology, and enhance service delivery.
“This is to ensure that parking management in Ipoh remains relevant, efficient, and user-friendly,” he said.
He was speaking at the Parking Management Appreciation Ceremony 2025 held in Ipoh.
The event was organised to recognise all parties who have played a key role in ensuring parking services are delivered smoothly, efficiently, and effectively.
The transformation of parking management in Ipoh has undergone a long evolution.
It began with parking meters, followed by the coupon system, and has now entered the digital era through the use of the Park@Perak smart application.
This transformation has not only improved operational efficiency but also made it easier for users, strengthened monitoring systems, and enhanced revenue collection.
