IPOH: The opening of the Pomelo Experience Centre and Farm here is set to provide visitors with a new attraction while showcasing the rich heritage and unique qualities of the renowned Tambun pomelo.

Ipoh City Council (MBI) Chief Whip Datuk Mazlan Abd Rahman said the Tambun pomelo is more than just a fruit, describing it as an identity and source of pride that has helped elevate Ipoh’s profile.

“I am honoured to attend the official opening of the Pomelo Experience Centre and Farm, held in conjunction with the Tambun Pomelo Promotion, an initiative that will further introduce the uniqueness of the Tambun pomelo to both domestic and international tourists.

“This experience centre will not only serve as a new tourism attraction, but also provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about the history, cultivation process and distinctive qualities of the Tambun pomelo, which has become one of Perak’s iconic products.

“I hope efforts to promote the Tambun pomelo will continue to be strengthened, further boosting the tourism sector, supporting local growers and generating economic benefits for the surrounding community.

“May the Tambun pomelo continue to be a source of pride for Ipoh and gain greater recognition on the international stage,” he said.
