IPOH: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officially launched the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Campaign 2026 today, marking the beginning of this year’s National Month celebrations across the country.
The theme for the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day Celebrations (HKHM) is “Malaysia MADANI: Prosperity Shared”, reflecting the Government’s commitment to ensuring that the nation’s progress, prosperity and development benefits are enjoyed fairly, equitably and inclusively by all Malaysians.
Held at the Sultan Azlan Shah Ministry of Health Training Institute (ILKKM SAS) here, the colourful event was organised by the Ministry of Communications through the Department of Information (JAPEN) in collaboration with the Perak State Government.
The ceremony featured vibrant cultural performances, including traditional Malay, Chinese, Indian and Bornean gong drumming by students from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), as well as patriotic choir performances by ILKKM SAS trainees.
Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, Minister of Communications Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, and Minister of National Unity Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.
During the event, the official theme song for the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day Celebrations, titled “Aku Berjanji” (I Promise) and performed by Faizal Tahir, was premiered to the public for the first time.
The song carries messages of unity, togetherness and patriotism, inspiring Malaysians to cherish and defend the nation’s sovereignty.
The official theme song, promotional kit and HKHM 2026 campaign materials can be downloaded via the Merdeka360 portal and the official National Day platforms to encourage nationwide participation.
Members of the public were also encouraged to fly the Jalur Gemilang at their homes and business premises throughout National Month as a symbol of patriotism.
The Ministry of Communications further urged Malaysians to participate in the various patriotic programmes organised by government agencies, the private sector and non-governmental organisations nationwide.
Earlier, more than 2,000 participants took part in the Patriot Merdeka Run, flagged off by the Ministry of Communications Secretary-General, Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah.
A range of community programmes was also held under the Kita MADANI Programme, including the JAPEN Nationhood Exhibition, Wellness on Wheels (WOW), a Dental Clinic, and NADI on Wheels (NOW).
The programme was made possible through a strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Health Malaysia, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and the Yayasan Bina Upaya Darul Ridzuan.
