Four young delegates from Junior Chambers International (JCI) Ipoh, participated in an international gathering that brought together four JCI sister chapters across four cities.
From 11 to 14 June, Niigata, a Japanese city renowned for its rich rice fields and winter landscapes, played host to the JCI Asia-Pacific Conference (JCI ASPAC 2026), which had the theme of “Be the Change – For a Brighter Future”. The conference brought together over 7,000 young leaders from more than twenty countries. It was not only a flagship annual event for youth organisations in the region but also one of the largest international gatherings ever hosted in Niigata.
For the JCI Ipoh delegation, a highlight of the event was an overseas reunion of four sister chapters, which were JCI Xin Zhuang (Taiwan), JCI East Kowloon (Hong Kong), JCI Marina (Singapore), and JCI Ipoh.
Representing young entrepreneurs and social activists, the delegation actively participated in leadership workshops, international roundtable discussions, and youth entrepreneurship forums. They built strong cross-border connections with representatives from Japan, South Korea, Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
In addition, JCI Ipoh 2026 Local President Oscar Low, represented Malaysia at Malaysia Night, a cultural showcase at ASPAC where delegates decorated national booths and presented traditional Malaysian performances to 7,000 international delegates.
On August 12, JCI Ipoh will host its first online Zoom exchange with JCI Xinzhuang (Taiwan). Board members from both chapters will gather virtually to collaborate across several key areas, such as International Networking, Best Practice Exchange and Future Collaborations.
This initiative marks a transition from a one-time conference meeting to sustained, actionable international cooperation.
