The Senior Citizens Club of Perak (Kelab Orang Berida Perak) was founded by Dr Mahinder Singh during his year as President of the Rotary Club of Ipoh in 1977. The Perak State Government fully endorsed the project and allocated a building for its use at No. 7 Jalan Caldwell, Ipoh. Today, it is already in its 49th year of existence.
The Senior Citizens Club of Perak holds a proud and enduring legacy. It was envisioned as a platform for retirees and elder members to continue to engage in community life actively, fostering friendship, promoting wellbeing and serving others even in their golden years of life.
Over the nearly five decades, the Club has grown into a reputable vibrant family embodying the Rotary Spirit of ‘Service Above Self’, which is translated via weekly gatherings such as weekly gatherings, educational tours, karaoke sessions, ballroom and disco dancing sessions, health and wellness programmes, table tennis, flower arrangement, charity projects and so forth, which have enriched the lives of its members.
It is heartening that members continue to find meaning through companionship and mutual support. The Club also works closely with other community partners in promoting aging. Some members have also contributed their time and wisdom mentoring the younger generation.
As the celebrate 49 years of service and wellbeing, the Rotary Club of Ipoh honors the founding Rotarians whose vision had given birth to this Club and they salute every member, past and present, who have kept its flame glowing.
May the Senior Citizen’s Club of Perak continue to stand as a Beacon of Fellowship, Dignity and above all, Joyful Living in the years to come.

The SCCP welcomes new members to join their Club. Ordinary membership of the Club is opened to anyone above the age of 55 years residing in the State of Perak.
Associate membership is opened to anyone below the age of 55 years of age residing in Perak.
