IPOH: All Perak state government departments, agencies and local authorities have been instructed to fly the Jalur Gemilang in conjunction with the 2026 National Month celebrations.
The directive takes effect from today until 20 September 2026.
The initiative is aimed at enlivening the National Month celebrations, which are observed throughout August each year.
The Perak State-Level National Day Celebration will be held on 31 August 2026 at Dataran Townhall, Ipoh.
Perak Deputy State Secretary (Management), Dato’ Nor Sham Rahman, said all government premises and buildings are required to display the Jalur Gemilang throughout the campaign period.
He also reminded all parties to ensure that the national flag is properly maintained and accorded the respect it deserves.
“Worn-out or damaged flags should be replaced to preserve the image and dignity of the National Day celebrations.
“Besides government premises, owners of business establishments and private buildings are also encouraged to join in by flying the Jalur Gemilang,” he said in a statement.
The initiative is expected to strengthen the spirit of patriotism and love for the nation among the people.
The state government hopes that all parties will cooperate in making the 2026 National Month celebrations a success throughout Perak.
