LUMUT – Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS), in collaboration with the Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council (MOGSC), organised the two-day Operasi Pemeriksaan & Penjagaan Awal (OPPA) 2026 programme.
The programme is a corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at providing access to healthcare services for the local community.
OPPA 2026 also received support from volunteers from South Korea, who provided free health screenings and medical consultations.
The initiative focused on early intervention to encourage members of the community to take greater responsibility for monitoring their health.
The programme reflects LUNAS’ commitment to implementing social responsibility initiatives that create a lasting impact on the community.
A preventive healthcare approach is important in raising public awareness of the importance of regular health screenings.
Also present was Pangkor State Assemblywoman, Norhaslinda Zakaria, who expressed support for efforts to engage with the community through health-related programmes.
Students from Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET) also participated in the programme.
Initiatives such as OPPA 2026 can strengthen ties with the community while contributing to an improved quality of life for local residents.
