IPOH – The Merdeka Day Karate Carnival will be held on August 23 in conjunction with the National Month celebrations.


Organised by the Shito Kai Karate-Do Association, the programme will take place at the Dewan Orang Ramai, Laluan Sungai Pari 5, Teluk Kurin, Buntong, here, starting at 9am.
The event will be attended and officiated by Chairman of the Kinta Indian Welfare, Social, Sports and Cultural Association, P. Uvarajan.
According to the club’s founder, Arunajalam Rengasamy, various activities related to the martial art of karate are expected to be among the main attractions for visitors.
The programme will also carry the spirit of independence, with emphasis on unity and togetherness.
Members of the local community are encouraged to attend and enliven the celebration, while the participation fee is only RM5.
Food and drinks will be provided for participants, along with souvenirs for guests.
