IPOH: A relatively deep sinkhole along Jalan Fair Park here is posing a risk of accidents to road users, with several motorcyclists claiming they had nearly been ‘sent flying’ after hitting it.

An Ipoh resident, who identified herself as Belle, said the sinkhole along Jalan Fair Park, opposite BMC Hotel, had only been cordoned off with traffic cones as a warning, while the road had also been reduced to a one-way route for vehicles.
She said the situation was particularly dangerous at night as motorists and motorcyclists who failed to notice the hazard could be involved in accidents.
“The pothole along Jalan Fair Park, opposite BMC Hotel, has yet to receive any action from the relevant authorities.
“In my view, incidents like this should be addressed and repaired immediately as this is a busy road with heavy traffic and poses a danger to road users.
“I urge the relevant authorities to repair the road as soon as possible and ensure the sinkhole is properly closed to prevent it from recurring, all for the safety of road users,” she told Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic.
