PARIT BUNTAR – Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, graced and officiated the opening of Parit Buntar Hospital (HPB).
Also in attendance was the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim.
The hospital’s opening reflects the continued commitment of the Federal Government and the Ministry of Health (MOH) to strengthening the public healthcare delivery system.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, in his royal address, said healthcare should not depend solely on hospitals, but should begin with individual and family responsibility.
He said a healthy population is an important asset in the development of the state and country.
“HPB was developed to replace the former Parit Buntar Hospital on a 5.59-hectare site at a cost of approximately RM173.3 million.
“The hospital comprises six three-storey blocks with a capacity of 76 beds.
“It is equipped with two operating theatres, a delivery suite, a High Dependency Unit (HDU), as well as Respiratory and Haemodynamic Units (RHU),” he said.
The specialist services offered include General Medicine, Emergency and Trauma, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery and Orthopaedics.
Construction of HPB began in January 2018 and was completed on July 23, 2025, before officially commencing operations on September 3, 2025.
