IPOH: After six months of discussions, monitoring, and follow-up actions, Telekom Malaysia (TM) has finally repaired the utility manhole located near the Tun Sambanthan Roundabout in Buntong.
According to Buntong Zone Councillor, Mr. Sivam Kali Muthu, the council has never given up in resolving issues faced by residents in the area, including the damaged manhole caused by irresponsible parties who excavated the site.
“TM has now allocated sufficient funds for the repair work. They appointed a contractor to carry out the repairs on the utility manhole.
“I have remained persistent in managing and following up on this complaint.”
“The TM utility manhole beside the Tun Sambanthan Roundabout was excavated by irresponsible individuals, resulting in significant damage,” he said.
He added, The complaint was forwarded to TM for maintenance and repair. However, a slight oversight occurred, which delayed the resolution, taking several weeks.
“I continued to follow up consistently and sought assistance from the Head of the Complaint Unit, Puan Syuda, to ensure the issue was resolved,” he said.
Mr. Sivam also mentioned that he continues to monitor the progress of the complaint as the location is very close to his residence.
Furthermore, he stated that some public complaints require time and allocated funds to resolve.
“What is important is that we keep striving and persist in follow-up efforts for the safety and well-being of the local community,” he concluded.
