IPOH – A total of 100 food boxes sponsored by Yayasan Bina Upaya were distributed to the local community in conjunction with Deepavali 2026.

The distribution programme was held at the Jelapang Community Hall on October 25, beginning at 2pm.

The programme aimed to assist those in need while bringing joy to recipients ahead of the Deepavali celebration.

Jelapang State Assemblyman Cheah Pou Hian was also present to show his support for the community welfare initiative.

The contribution reflected the concern and commitment of various parties in helping to ease the burden of the local community.

The programme was also supported by the Jelapang Neighbourhood Watch Committee (KRT), led by its chairman, S. Thinakaran.

The cooperation of all parties ensured that the food distribution process proceeded smoothly and in an orderly manner.

The organisers also expressed their appreciation to Yayasan Bina Upaya for its contribution and to everyone who helped make the programme a success.

The initiative is expected to foster a stronger spirit of mutual assistance, particularly among Malaysia’s multiracial communities.

Such efforts are also important in strengthening unity, harmony and closer ties within the Jelapang community.
